John McCain's September Surprise?

Senator John McCain, who just a few days ago said that the US economy is "fundamentally strong", has now announced that he is temporarily suspending his campaign in order to return to Washington and work on the financial crisis.

CNN is reporting:

"The Arizona senator called on his Democratic rival, Barack Obama, to do the same.

The Obama campaign announced that Obama would make a statement shortly.

He also urged organizers of Friday's presidential debate at the University of Mississippi to postpone the event.

'I am calling on the president to convene a meeting with the leadership from both houses of Congress, including Senator Obama and myself,' McCain told reporters in New York. 'It is time for both parties to come together to solve this problem.' "

Is McCain just whining? Is this all in his mind?

Is this the GOP's October surprise a few weeks early?

Now I can understand that now is not the time for the presidential candidates to debate the economy. But correct me if I'm wrong, isn't the topic for Friday's debate "foreign policy".

Isn't foreign policy supposed to be the McCain/Palin ticket's strength?

Maybe they need a few more weeks to catch Bin Laden.

OK, we get it. Things are SO Bad that everything should be put on hold in order to fix it and we should all be VERY AFRAID AGAIN.

And tonight President Bush is going to address the nation and tell us that unless Congress once again gives them the keys to the kingdom that the economy will collapse. The economy that both Bush and McCain have insisted for years was strong and sound.

Does any of this sound familiar?

Maybe the economy is facing collapse within a few days. And maybe this time the little boys are not crying wolf. But Americans are tired of being lied to, manipulated and terrorized from within.
