My entire family is from the South and not one person that I know is, or has been, involved in dog fighting. In fact, if you watch the program "Animal Precinct" that airs on Animal Planet it appears that dog fighting is a cultural phenomenon in The Big Apple.
I respect Whoopi but this time she really should not have gone there.

She is correct in that dogfighting is not that unusual in the South-it is,however,not accepted and condoned. I,too,am an old Southern lady and I hope that Whoopie will clarify her comment that we are not all "Bubbas" here in Georgia and other parts of the greatest place on earth to live. We love animals and have been taught to have respect and kindness for all living things.
