Oh No She Didn't Say That!

The Canadian Press: First day on 'The View' and Whoopi Goldberg defends Michael Vick

Whoopi Goldberg used her first day on the daytime chat show Tuesday to defend football star Michael Vick in his dogfighting case. Goldberg said that "from where he comes from" in the South, dogfighting isn't that unusual

My entire family is from the South and not one person that I know is, or has been, involved in dog fighting. In fact, if you watch the program "Animal Precinct" that airs on Animal Planet it appears that dog fighting is a cultural phenomenon in The Big Apple.

I respect Whoopi but this time she really should not have gone there.

  1. She is correct in that dogfighting is not that unusual in the South-it is,however, not accepted and condoned. I,too,am an old Southern lady and I hope that Whoopie will clarify her comment that we are not all "Bubbas" here in Georgia and other parts of the greatest place on earth to live. We love animals and have been taught to have respect and kindness for all living things.
