A friend brought this story to my attention today and I was absolutely sickened. In the following video Guardian correspondent Tracy McVeigh reports of the witch hunts targeting children, yes children, in West Africa's Niger Delta.
As the video reports, there are so-called evangelical pastors who are extorting money from Nigerian parents by promising to cure their children from witchcraft. These religious charlatans are spreading ignorance, encouraging abuse and in many cases the deaths of innocent children.
This brand of Christianity certainly has nothing to do with Christ.
There is a way you can help the children if you would like. I have been researching this for a while and have created a blog with information and three petitions that can be signed protesting
ReplyDeleteagainst the treatment of the children and the so called pastors that are extorting the parents of the children. Please consider signing them for the children.
