McCain's Reactionary VP Pick

In a move that appears to be purely reactionary, Senator John McCain has now picked Sarah Palin, Governor from Alaska as his running mate.

Why is this reactionary? Let's look at the facts.

• There are still a few disenchanted Hillary supporters who are looking for a any reason to justify why they can't bring themselves to vote for Obama. But let me just say this, Sarah Palin is no Hillary Clinton.
  
  
• Now that the message has been hammered home that John McCain has voted with the Bush Administration 90% of the time or more, he needed to pick someone with the reputation of being a Maverick.
  
  
• Since Joe Biden's son Beau Biden, Delaware's Attorney General and Captain in the Delaware Army National Guard, is headed for Iraq in a little over a month, McCain picked a running with a son in the Army. And,
  
  
• Of course, McCain needed to add a little youth to his ticket.

This is not taking anything away from Sarah Palin's accomplishments. But, please explain to me how the neocons who are so concerned about national security would be at ease with Sarah Palin a breath away from the presidency.
