The War on Democracy?

While the Bush administration proudly professes to waging a war on terrorism another more dangerous struggle is being waged right in Washington, DC. It is a war on democracy -- a battle for control of goverment and the very soul of America. Will the US government return to being a goverment for the people and by the people OR will it be a government for corporate interests and controlled by corporate interests?

As the previous post indicates, there are those in Congress who want to equate the actions of grassroots activists and bloggers to the shady dealings and power brokering of "K" Street. This, of course, is ridiculous. But in the aftermath of the 2006 elections, politicians realize just how effective grassroots activists can be in informing the public and mobilizing voters.

So in order for "K" Street to get back to business as usual, the oppostion needs to be silenced. "Section 220 of S. 1" of the lobbying reform bill is no accident is just one battle that the American public will need to fight in order to win back the heart and soul of the republic.
