You're Invited to Help Eligible, Uninsured Children Get Enrolled!
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation is planning its annual Covering Kids & Families Back-to-School Campaign to kick off across the country on August 9, 2006 - just five weeks away!
With nearly 8.3 million uninsured children in the United States, most of whom are eligible for low-cost or free health care coverage through either Medicaid of the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), the time to act is now. The Back-to-School Campaign is designed to urge parents to call toll-free 1(877) KIDS-NOW to find out if their uninsured children are eligible for low-cost or free health care coverage. We hope you'll join us by planning an activity or participating in an event in your community.
Visit our new, improved Web site at www.coveringkidsandfamilies.org to register for Covering Kids & Families e-mail updates and to find out what you can do to help inform these parents. You can help by handing out fliers to parents, writing a letter to the editor of a newspaper, or planning a community event to promote low-cost and free health care coverage - some of the many ways to help get America's children covered.
You can also browse the Covering Kids & Families toolkits in the Communications Action Center to get ideas about how to reach out the business community, work with the faith community and plan a media event. Register today as an event planner and get started!
Please contact the Covering Kids & Families Communications Team at coveringkidsandfamilies@gmmb.com or (202) 338-7227 with any questions about the Back-to-School Campaign, or for assistance with planning.
