You spend years trying to find a doctor that you trust with the health of your family and no insurance company or government agency should dictate their care.
Yes, there are abuses in medical treatment and billing but I do believe that most doctors would rather have a healthy, live and long term patient than a critically ill or dead one.
As the organization HealthCareNow states:
"The U.S. has a catastrophically fragmented health care system that provides incentives for sick care instead of prevention. The system is in dire need of reform -- reform to save lives, to save families and to save money for both patients and the American health care system.
So stand with more than 450,000 doctors who support health care reform. Call Congress: (202) 224-3121.and tell them that you want health reform that Marcus Welby would appreciate.

Earlier today, Amy Goodman interviewed Wendell Potter for DemocracyNow. During the interview Potter discussed: the insurance industry's strategy to influence the media and Capitol Hill on healthcare reform; the campaign against Michael Moore's movie "Sicko"; and, how hard it was for him to serve as a company spokesperson during his tenure as the insurance giant's top spokesperson.
